The dangers of urban cycling
There is no shortage of evidence regarding the health benefits of cycling. Obviously, it can help with weight loss and muscle development, whilst research has also shown that it can improve bone strength, protect joints, reduce stress and lower blood pressure. Cycling isn’t completely risk-free, though; each day in the UK, 37 cyclists are injured, whilst 146 lose their lives on the roads each year. But are there other dangers cyclists should be aware of besides the possibility of an accident?
