of 2005, was the first man to ever wear a pair of shorts on court in 1933. Ironically, Yvon Petra, French tennis
player who rose to fame during World War II, was the last champion to ever wear long trousers on court in 1946.

Wimbledon is synonymous to strawberries. Every year, 24 tons of Kent strawberries are ordered for the Championships
at Wimbledon. In other words, more than 21, 000 kilograms of the highest quality strawberries from LEAF- registered
farms are picked the day before and arrive at Wimbledon at 5.30am prior for inspection. A minimum of 10
strawberries cost about 1.60 to 2.00 pounds.

Slazenger, an Australian sports brand, has provided every tennis ball at the Wimbledon Championships for over a
century already. It has also been recognized as the official tennis ball since the beginning of the Australian
Open.

Women's style has caused an unlikely uproar in the tennis court. When Gussie Moran, American tennis player, wore a
short, lace trimmed skirt in 1949 she was accused by the All- England Club (AEC) for “bringing vulgarity and sin
into tennis.” Her outfit was made by Teddy Tinling, tennis player turned fashion designer.

Serena Williams’ favorite place to visit is the mirror in her house, while her sister Venus claims that her
preferred spot is anywhere that accepts credit cards. Venus is now a fashion design student while Serena has her
