Bahamas Freeport

Summary: Tourism is the major player in Bahamas Freeport, with a million visitors each year.

A Freeport or free zone (Foreign Trade Zone) is a port or area with relaxed jurisdiction with respect to the country of location. Freeport is free of customs or being a special customs zone with favorable customs regulation.

The Bahamas Freeport is one kind of free trade zone. It is a city on the island of Grand Bahamas located approximately 100 mi (160 km) east-northeast of Fort Lauderdale, South Florida and gives its name to a district of the Bahamas. The Bahamas Freeport is accessible by any vessel. It has a cruise terminal, a container port, a private yacht and ship maintenance facility.

Tourism is the major industry in Bahamas Freeport, with over a million visitors each year. Its beaches are popular spots for snorkeling and diving. Since the majority of the tourism industry operators are from the suburbs of Lucaya, the Bahamas Freeport is often promoted as Freeport Lucaya.

Freeport is a type of city that welcomes everyone with open arms. For tourists, travelers and cruisers no other arrangement can be better. A free access to a world of beaches and nightlife in a tropical paradise couldn’t get any better. Bahamas Freeport is where the most action in the Bahamas could be found. Here you will find long stretches of deserted clean, white and sugary sand with emerald beaches. The Bahamas Freeport boasts a number of outstanding snorkeling spots. The most remarkable Bahamas Freeport snorkeling spot would be Paradise Cove, because right on their beach’s doorstep you will see the magnificent Deadman’s Reef.

If you are interested in checking Paradise Cove and the Deadman’s Reef, here’s the listing of their location and the ways to reach them.

Paradise Cove Beach Resort
No other beaches have the direct access towards the Deadman’s Reef. Paradise Cove knows and takes pride of that. No other Bahamas snorkeling vacation and underwater adventure can be as great to experience Paradise Cove.

No other snorkeling spots would be as great as Deadman’s Reef. Though threatened when hurricane Wilma hit the Bahamas shore, Deadman’s Reef survived with all its splendor, though Paradise Cove did suffer property damage. Paradise Cove is back in business today, but if you are willing to do a shoreline, you might just arrive in Deadman’s Reef. It is a Freeport after all.
