Paintball Tactics

Professional paintball players agree that other than pure luck, having properly executed paintball tactics and strategies are essential in winning the game. But if you are a newbie to in the sport paintball, here are some general paintball tactics that may come useful.

Shooting Tactics
The most frequently used technique in hitting the opponent is to pepper your opponent with shots while advancing steadily to your opponent’s position. With this technique you will “pin” your opponent. This technique will eventually encourage your opponent to hide behind their cover allowing you to go for a closer kill.

Cover Tactics
Covering is the most important part in the game paintball. Covering is one of the defensive paintball tactics. Every structure in the paintball field is used for covering (tree, bunker bags, etc.). Standing while under cover is the most mobile and the most silent way of sneaking to your opponent. However, standing has the least coverage or visual suppression. It also increases your risk of being hit. Kneeling crouch has low mobility but is excellent for covering because it gives the player good amount of physical coverage and at the same time stability. The prone position cover is when the player lies on his or her stomach. This position makes the player less visible but also makes the player least mobile.

Flanking Tactics
Flanking on the opponent is one of the most important paintball tactics because this kind of paintball tactics can easily be applied to almost all firefight situations. Flanking an opponent or opposing team can also lead to the breakdown of the flanking team’s assault if the opposing team counters the flanking attack. It is important to carefully plan and execute a flanking assault.

Suppression Tactics
A suppression tactic is not a designed to eliminate the opposing team. Rather these types of paintball tactics are used to distract the opposing team so that they would not notice your team’s advancements or flanking tactics. It takes a lot of skills in order for the suppression tactics to succeed. Paintball players must have good control in their fire. Suppression teams usually consist of two to four players. The function of the suppressing players is to harass the opponent’s position so that the enemy would fail to notice the invading team’s assault. Once the invading team is in position the suppressing team will then move forward to support the invading team.

Invading Tactics
Once the invading players or team is in the planned position, their goal is to eliminate various targets as many as they can, or capture the flag (usually will depend on what type of paintball game they are playing).

One thing is for sure, once you fire your paintball marker, your opponent will know your location. The only way for you to do is to make as much damage to the opponent as much as possible.
