Dirt Biking School
A Day In A Dirt Biking School
Many people, especially those who are inclined for adventure, want to experience dirt biking.
Most of them already know a thing or two about driving a motorcycle.
However, driving a dirt bike is not the same as driving a regular motorcycle. It takes skill and
special techniques to control a dirt bike. So what is the best way to at least have an introductory course in dirt
biking if you are interested to take up the sport?
While it would be okay to have a dirt bike enthusiast teach you, the best way is to enroll in a
dirt biking school.
Enrolling in a dirt biking school is good way for people to learn how to drive off road
motorcycles. Usually, the introductory course takes half a day to a full day. While some amount of time is devoted
to the classroom, most of the time is allotted to hands on sessions. The beginner will learn in a controlled
environment with little pressure.
Dirt biking school begins with a classroom discussion on the basic rules and techniques of dirt
biking. After that, the real fun begins. On the track, beginners are taught the proper way to sit on a dirt bike,
the location and function of the bike’s controls and straight line riding. Once these are mastered, the coaches
will teach you how to ride in circles, negotiate sharp turns, and how to manage hills.
Aside from learning how to drive a dirt bike, the dirt biking school also let you be aware of
your responsibility in making every ride safe and exciting for you and for other riders. Issues such as traffic
control, risk management, first aid and environmental awareness are tackled.
At the end of the day, everyone enrolled in a dirt biking school should have working knowledge
of techniques that a dirt biker must know. Each biker will also have understood the importance of staying safe,
acting responsibly and having fun when riding a dirt bike. The day ends with a short trip on a bike trail.
To enroll in a dirt biking school, you will need good off-road motorcycle. You will also need
proper riding gear such as a helmet, motorcycle jacket, gloves, padding and boots. Of course, if you don’t have
these, the school can always rent you the bike and the gear. Dirt biking schools usually charge $90 to $100. They
usually offer discounts for group enrollment. Students under 18 should have permission from their parents.
For beginners, dirt biking schools are the best option to learn about dirt bikes, to have friends and to have
fun.
