Backpacking Europe; what an exciting idea! Europe is the second smallest
continent, carrying a land mass of about 10,180,000 square kilometers. A land of beauty, steeped in rich
culture, history and architecture just calls out to those who are willing to take on a new adventure.
But backpacking Europe is not as simple as it may sound. Even if you are an experienced
traveler, you must never take backpacking Europe lightly. There are few must-haves before you embark on the
journey. A backpack of course! Remember to get yourself a backpack which is economical, comfortable and strong.
Once you have purchased the bag, it is time to find a good pair of tracking shoes. Remember, you might just take
that one pair along with you in order to lessen the load that you would be carrying. Your shoes need to be strong
and comfortable.
Backpacking Europe would take you to many cultural and religious places.
Therefore remember to pack along some “conservative clothing”. Certain religious places, do not allow people to
enter clad in such as tank tops or shorts. Clothing items speak a different language to people from other cultures
Therefore keep that in mind when pack for your backpacking adventure.
A must have for one who is backpacking Europe is a Eurail pass. A Eurail pass will help you
travel on trains throughout Europe without needing to purchase individual tickets each time. Along with the Eurail
pass, it may also help to have a few phone cards with you, just in case you want to contact any loved ones at
home!
One who is backpacking Europe may find that it is advantageous to carry their own towel and
sheet.
Why; because at times you may have to pay an additional amount in order to rent them. Remember
to pack a towel that would be fast-drying as well as super absorbent. You wouldn’t want to pack a wet towel and
smell all the way. A camera and a diary is an essential commodity, if you like to look back at your adventure
in years to come.
Many different cultures, different people, lifestyles, sights and sounds in a relatively short
period of time, Backpacking Europe will give you an experience to last you a life time, each time!
