Backpacking Camping
Backpacking camping: for amateurs and professionals
Some people love to go to the countryside to enjoy nature at its purest and simplest form.
Others love to go to the beach to enjoy the sun and the waves. Many also love to go to the mountains and the
wilderness to enjoy the rugged terrains and the feeling of being in touch with the environment. Most people
may not be into this type of backcountry fun but for those who love it, they experience a different fulfillment and
satisfaction worth remembering.
Backpacking camping may not be for everyone, as it takes so much of a person's
physical endurance and stamina. Backpacking camping is a rigorous activity that can only be met by physically
healthy people, that's why it is not for everyone. Backpacking camping combines hiking and camping, plus
carrying huge backpacks with all the equipments and supplies needed for eating, sleeping, and surviving the days
and nights in these rough areas, so a person must have physical strength, ability, and skill to truly enjoy and
survive this trip. Backpacking camping is done and experienced by both professionals and amateurs.
For those who just want to enjoy the natural scenery and spend a night or more just to
experience what it is like to live in these camps, they are usually there for fun, experience, curiosity, and
satisfaction. For those professional backpackers, backpacking camping for them is a mission --- it is an
important and integral part of their job; like the military for their training, scientific and academic researchers
for their respective studies, professional guides to assist other backpackers, photographers for their specialized
galleries, park-rangers and "search and rescue" officers.
When one goes on a backpacking camping trip, he has to be aware of the possible unpredictable
things that may happen, that's why he has to at least prepare and practice safety skills to ensure survival.
No matter how much a person prepares for his backpacking camping, there will always be certain surprises --- both
positive and negative --- awaiting him. Survival skills plus physical and mental endurance become handy in
dealing such unexpected circumstances like the weather change, environment, route navigation, injuries, and
more.
Backpacking camping is fulfilling but a challenging experience --- and only good and right for
those who are truly willing to do it. Backpacking camping may be too difficult for some while there are
others who find real pleasure and satisfaction after a backpacking camping --- no matter how rigorous and tiring it
may be.
